Safe Harbor privacy
Safe Harbor prepares your companies' tax returns and your own from papers you upload. It is run by James Layfield, on his own computer in Miami.
Signing in
You sign in with your Google account, through Cloudflare. Safe Harbor learns your email address and nothing else from Google.
What it keeps
What you upload and what you answer: your papers, the figures read from them, and your answers, in your own estate. Only you, and anyone you invite, can see it. It is stored on an encrypted drive. Social Security numbers are kept in that computer's keychain; pages show the last four only.
When you ask for help
If you ask for help with a question, that question and the figures it needs are sent to Claude, by Anthropic, to explain the choices.
What it never does
It never sells, shares or uses your data for advertising. It never files or sends anything for you.
Google Calendar
For the account holder who allows it, Safe Harbor uses the Google Calendar API to add filing deadlines to their own calendar.
- What it does. It creates, updates and removes the deadline events it made itself. It does not read, change or delete any other event.
- What it keeps. It keeps the permission token in a password manager, and a note of which deadline events it has created. It keeps no copy of anything else in the calendar.
- Where it runs. On James's own computer. Calendar data is not sent to any other service.
- Sharing. Data from Google is never sold, never shared, never used for advertising and never used to train AI models.
Safe Harbor's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Stopping it
The permission can be removed at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. After that, Safe Harbor can no longer reach the calendar.
Leaving
Ask, and your estate is deleted.
